3 Kids Perish in Isabela River, Philippines
Bodies of two of the three children, who were suspected to have drowned on Friday while taking a bath at a river in Barangay Daburrab in Cauayan City, have been found along the Cagayan river in separate places in Santo Tomas and Ilagan towns on Monday (Jan. 9), the police reported.
Found dead in Calamagui 1st in Ilagan town was Eric John Rasa, a six-year-old Grade 1 student, while the body of his brother, Rickson Jay, was found floating off the river in Barangay Uauang Galicia in Santo Tomas town. Relatives positively identified the bodies and claimed them at separate funeral parlors.
Police Supt. Roberto Bucad, Ilagan police chief, said Eric John’s body was discovered by fisherman Edilberto Talattu on Monday morning while Rickson Jay’s body was seen floating by villagers in Sto. Tomas town.
Still missing was Andrea Maureen Corpuz, a six-year-old first grader in Dabburab-Baringin Elementary School.
