Alvin Perez of Pangasinan Shot Dead

A businessman was killed and his wife was wounded when four robbers wearing bonnets barged into their house in Barangay Galarin, Urbiztondo around 12:30 a.m. on Monday, June 18.

The fatality was identified as Alvin Perez, 32, who sustained gunshot wounds in different parts of his body and died on the spot. His wife, Anabel, 25, who is six-month pregnant, suffered gunshot wounds in the right leg and hip and was rushed to a private hospital in San Carlos City.

Initial investigation showed that the armed men barged inside the house of the victims through the roof of their garage and once inside, they hog-tied the couple’s houseboy who was sleeping in the sala, identified as Salvador Perez, before they went to the room of the couple.

Hearing the commotion, the couple padlocked the door of their room which the suspects tried to bang with their bodies. Unable to open this, the suspects fired at the door using their Armalite rifle, hitting Alvin in the body.

Investigators recovered from the crime scene three spent shells of Armalite rifle bullets and six empty shells of cal. 45 pistol bullets.

The suspects escaped with two bags containing money estimated at half a million pesos.

A follow up investigation is now being conducted by the Urbiztondo police.
