Business and Export Forum in Davao City Philippines
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Davao, in cooperation with the Bureau of Export Trade Promotion (BETP) and United Nations Procurement Division (UNPD) will converge some 120 exporters, manufacturers, traders, business associations, and academe to discuss business opportunities and procurement activities on various market prospects offered by the United Nations on Feb. 24 at Grand Men Seng Hotel in this city.
DTI Regional Director Marizon S. Loreto said the target participants will come from the 14 recommended sectors. These are the food and catering, motor vehicles, parts and transportation equipment, automotive and automotive parts, electronic data processing equipment and maintenance, architecture, engineering and construction services, information and communication technology (ICT) and ICT services, furniture and furnishings, clothing, chemical and petroleum products, security and safety equipment and services, office equipment and supplies, and engineering and management consultancy services.
“This activity is crucial as this will give us important insights on how to deal with the UNPD. That is why we have invited those companies which are ready or have the potential to cater and comply with international standards,” she said.
During the forum, participating companies will be assisted in their registration to the UNPD, the very first process in cornering some business opportunities being offered by the UNPD.
Loreto is optimistic that a number of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) from the region will be able to build business ties with the UNPD.
