Cordova Public Hospital in Cebu, Philippines
Rep. Gabriel Luis “Luigi” Quisumbing (Cebu, 6th district) has filed House Bill 5200 which proposes the creation of the Cordova Public Hospital to provide affordable medical care to his constituents.
In his explanatory note, Quisumbing said Cordova, a third-class municipality south of Mactan, has no hospital yet.
The town’s Municipal Health Office has had to function as a hospital, offering health consultations and treatment, immunizations and some minor surgeries.
Birthing and lying in service are also offered by the Municipal Health Office, Quisumbing said.
Quisumbing said immediate and critical medical attention should be available to many people who are too poor to get the services in private hospitals.
