Corona Impeachment Inhibition

Lawyers will ask two associate justices of the Supreme Court (SC) to inhibit from handling the petitions questioning the validity of the articles of impeachment filed against SC Chief Justice Renato Corona.

Atty. Alan Paguia on Monday said that they will ask Senior Associate Justice Antonio Carpio and Associate Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno to inhibit from participating in the impeachment-related petitions.

Last month, the SC consolidated all the five petitions questioning the validity of the impeachment complaint against Corona.

However, the SC has declined to issue a temporary restraining order (TRO) and required the House of Representatives and the Senate sitting as Impeachment Court to comment.

Corona has inhibited from the case.
