Low Pressure Area in Mindanao Philippines

The low pressure area (LPA) spotted east of Mindanao is expected to become a tropical depression in two to three days, weather forecasters said Monday.

Forecaster Buddy Javier of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Service Administration (PAGASA) said the LPA, at 1,070 km east of Mindanao (7.0ºN, 137.0ºE), has a chance to become a depression.

“Medyo mabagal yung tinatahak ng LPA (ngunit) expected natin na 2-3 days maging bagyo sa Philippine Area of Responsibility at makakaapekto ito sa bansa,” Javier said.

PAGASA said once the LPA develops into a tropical depression and enters the country, it will be named “Gener”, the seventh to affect the Philippines this year.
