Mar Roxas Takes Oath as DOTC Secretary
President Benigno S. Aquino III formally swore in former Senator Mar Roxas as Secretary of the Department of Transportation and Communications in simple ceremonies held in Malacañang Monday.
The President had earlier announced the appointment of Roxas to replace former Secretary Jose de Jesus who resigned last June 30.
In an interview, Roxas said he was thankful for the trust and confidence of President Aquino in appointing him as top dog of the DoTC, adding that he would do his best in order to repay the President’s trust.
He cited one of the President’s marching orders to him was to review the “problematic contracts” that smacked of irregularities and would not benefit Filipinos in any way.
