Mass communications internship partnership program
What used to be the premier focus of FEATI University in its academic core program for aeronautics, education, science, technology and the arts for 66 years has added a new leaf this year.
FEATI U has embarked on a mass communications internship partnership program with the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO)-News and Information Bureau (NIB) through the Philippines News Agency (PNA).
FEATI University forged Tuesday a Memorandum of Undertaking (MOU) for partnership with the government’s news, information and communications arm on its on-the-job training (OJT) “infomission” program for mass communications and journalism students.
The partnership agreement was signed by Dr. Gloria Alberto, university Executive Vice President for Development and Compliance and NIB Director IV Brando Merrera for the PCOO-NIB-PNA.
Alberto represented the university’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Gabriel Intengan who had prior engagement for the university’s management committee meeting.
Witnessing the simple signing rites were Maria Natividad Ladip, university student services officer and PCOO-NIB Assistant Director Danilo Jamora.
Alberto welcomed the latest developments to the university’s undertaking on apprenticeship program with the government information and communications department.
Alberto said “this is a plus factor for our accreditation and in advancing our student programs.”
Merrera expressed the bureau’s appreciation for FEATI University as an academic partner since this is part of the NIB’s thrust in its information mission by reaching out to universities and learning institutions as major partners through the OJT program.
Merrera added the OJT is only one of the information programs intended for its academic partners so that they would be informed on the workings of the Presidency and the government.
