NSO Philippines Survey

The Annual Survey on Business Philippine Industry (ASBPI) that will be undertaken by the National Statistics Office (NSO) will kick off next month.

NSO regional administrator Norman R. Julag-ay said the result of the survey with some 1,565 commercial establishments as respondents will serve as basis to come up with economic indicators, especially on the gross regional domestic product (GRDP).

It will also serve as ‘frame’ for other surveys that will be conducted by the said office, he added.

Among others, the survey will try to uncover the financial standing of various major industries in the region for 2009.

Julag-ay said the bulk of the respondents will be from Negros Occidental with 750; followed by Iloilo and Guimaras with 435; Capiz, 81; Antique, 53 and Aklan, 245.

Survey questionnaires will be sent out middle of August and the collection period will be during the last four months of the year.
