Ongoing impeachment trial of Chief Justice Renato Corona

Senators held an urgent caucus Wednesday to discuss the petitions filed before the Supreme Court seeking to stop the ongoing impeachment trial of Chief Justice Renato Corona and reception of evidence against him.
It was Senate Majority Leader Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, who moved for a caucus, before the Senate could proceed with the proper trial.
“I move that the body go into a caucus immediately to resolve these issues before we go into the cross examination proper of the trial,” Sotto said.
