Philippine Media Forum
The Philippine Information Agency (PIA) 4-A here launched Friday its “Talakayan sa PIA-4A” media forum to complement and reinforce the government’s information dissemination activities in the Calabarzon Region.
The PIA, one of the information arms of the Presidential Communication Operations Office (PCOO), formats the weekly forum with government resources persons, talking heads and other invited speakers in a friendly “face-to-face” presentation, discussion on vital issues and developments in the region and informal interaction with the media.
The Calabarzon region covers the Southern Tagalog provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon.
National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) IV-A regional director and Vice Chairman of the Regional Development Council (RDC) Calabarzon Severino Santos was the guest of honor at the launching rites graced by the PIA Deputy Director General Virgilio D.C. Galvez and attended by some 35 members of the Calabarzon media and government media and information officers.
Santos congratulated the PIA for the timely and strategic mechanism where the media serves as “bridge” for information on the government’s program and projects especially the National Development Plan through the NEDA and the regional plan through the RDC and disseminate these to the public.
