Philippine Storm Ambo Latest Update Today

City mayor Mauricio Domogan ton MOnday asked his constituents to start their high level of alert against possible effects of natural disasters especially typhoons.

He made the appeal as he expressed relief when tropical storm “Ambo,” which brought torrential rains here for the past five days, had already veered away from the country.

Since the “killer quake” in 1990, Baguio experienced series of natural disasters, especially with typhoons “Harurot”, “Feria”, “Pepeng” and several others that the devastation they left had made residents more prepared during these rainy months.

Earlier today, the local office of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) assured that personnel had started packing relief goods in anticipation of any typhoon which may hit again this area.

Domogan has also asked the contractors of various on-going projects, especially near schools to hasten their completion in order that the school children will not be so threatened with diggings and presence of heavy equipment as they pass by construction sites.
