By Carlo C. Agamon
Judge Edwin B. Ramizo of the Regional Trial Court-National Capital Judicial Region on Thursday ordered to set aside and recall the warrants of arrest against former South Cotabato election supervisor Atty. Lilian Radam for lack of probable cause.
The joint Commission on Elections-Department of Justice (Comelec-DOJ) preliminary investigation panel found no probable cause to charge Radam.
Attached in the order is the motion with leave of court to withdraw information filed by lawyers Esmeralda Amora-Ladra and Ma. Juana Valeza, both of the Comelec legal department.
Ladra and Valeza, on Jan. 16, 2012 prayed for the withdrawal of the information filed in connection with the 11 counts of election sabotage against Radam.
Atty. Nena A. Santos, Radam’s legal counsel, did not offer objection to the motion, and so the information for election sabotage filed against Radam were withdrawn.
In an interview by newsmen here, Radam said the withdrawal of the case against her vendicated her of any participation in the anomalies during the 2007 national polls.
“The withdrawal of the cases against me means that I have been vindicated of any participation in such anomalies,” she said.
