Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Gilbert Teodoro is qualified to run for the presidency, Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita said Wednesday.
”I’m glad he already came out [and expressed his intention to run],” Ermita told reporters during a briefing in Malacanang.
Teodoro has expressed his intent to run for president in the 2010 national elections, hoping that President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and her party, the Kabalikat ng Mamamayang Pilipino (Kampi) will endorse him.
”He’s being practical when he said he will run if the President and the party will support him. He’s doing and saying the right thing in expressing his aspirations for 2010,” Ermita said. – PNA
