Reaction Paper Essay on Aquino Sona 2012

Business and government leaders as well as ordinary folks in Central Luzon on Monday commended President Benigno Aquino III for “a more detailed and comprehensive” state of the nation address (SONA).

Rene Romero, vice president of the Pampanga Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc., said the Chief Executive delivered well his administration’s accomplishments for the past two years as well as his plans and visions until the end of his term.

“The SONA of the President was well delivered and I think the Filipino people were very much happy to know what his administration has accomplished in the past years and what are the plans for the next years that would give better lives to all of us,” Romero said.

“However, I expect the President to give emphasis in his SONA on the development of the Clark International Airport as the next international gateway of the country,” he said.

Regional Development Council (RDC) co-chairman Roberto Ramirez, likewise, said that this year’s SONA of the President explained well his administration’s accomplishments and plans with complete data support.

“The President’s SONA was very well said. The accomplishments of his administration for the past two years as well as the targets and projections in the next four years are in detail,” Ramirez said.

Both business leaders are looking forward to the administration’s concrete policies on how to gain more investments and improve the country’s economy.

City mayor and League of the Cities of the Philippines president Oscar Rodriguez likewise lauded President Aquino for his detailed speech specifically on health, agriculture and education.

“It was comprehensive, interesting and inspiring. His SONA covered his major accomplishments, programs and plans,” Rodriguez said.

Even ordinary citizens were impressed with the SONA, saying President Aquino had enumerated well the results and achievements of his administration especially in terms of social services.

Nora Sandoval, one of the beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program or 4Ps in Central Luzon, said she was very happy with the administration’s strong conviction to uplift the lives of the indigent Filipinos.

With the plans of the Aquino administration to enroll more beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilya, more indigents, like us, would be given brighter future, Sandoval said.
