Rotary Club of Kerrville, Texas, USA Donates Books to Philippines
Valenzuela City’s early childhood care and development (ECCD) program got a much-needed boost following the donation of children’s books, toys and building blocks by the Rotary Club of Kerrville, Texas, USA, early this week.
Valenzuela City Mayor Sherwin Gatchalian said this generous aid from the Rotary Club of Kerrville was received by Dorothy G. Evangelista, officer-in-charge of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), and Edwina R. Fernando, focal person of the CSWDO’s ECCD program.
Evangelista disclosed that Rick Yu, a former president of the Rotary Club of Valenzuela West, informed her last Christmas that they and the Rotary Club of Kerrville would be donating books to the Valenzuela City government.
She was asked if it was possible to donate them to Valenzuela’s daycare centers.
“Of course, we have recently finished putting up seven new daycare centers but they lack adequate materials yet, so we readily accepted their donations. These are for the less-fortunate children, so these would help a lot,” Evangelista said.
