School Organization in HNU Tagbilaran City, Bohol
by Joan V. Llanos
Twenty-nine student organizations joined the recognition night on July 20, 2007, preceding the acquaintance party that lasted until the wee hours in the morning. An increase in the number of organizations is noted this school year (from 23 orgs. previous year) with the new entrants representing various colleges falling under the co-curricular category, as well as those belonging to the extra-curricular and town-based organizations. Gladly, some organizations are revived, through the efforts of the new sets of officers for this school year.
In preparation for this event, a week-long recruitment process was held with the end-in-view of encouraging every student in the college to sign-up and join a specific organization of his/her own choice. Such has been the focus of the student activities program. Making a student feel he/she belongs serves a tremendous impact on a student’s being with the school’s attempt to strike a balance between one’s academic and non-academic life.
This school year, the Student Activities Office looks forward to a fuller and more significant events that will hopefully make a lasting impression in the heart, mind and spirit of every Holynamian.
