State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA) Olympics in Iloilo, Philippines

The State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA) Olympics will be held at the Iloilo Sports Complex in La Paz district here on Feb. 19-25.

Iloilo Gov. Arthur Defensor, Sr. has agreed to lend the sports complex venue free of charge during his meeting with SCUAA officials Wednesday.

Defensor met with Dr. Benny Palma, president of the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC), who said there will be 16 regions composed of around 5,000 athletes and their officials in the event themed, “Isports at Kultura: Gabay sa Pagtahak ng Matuwid ng Daan”.

Palma said they have invited Ilonggo Sen. Franklin Drilon as their keynote speaker on Feb. 19.

There will be 16 sports events to include basketball, softball, football, boxing, karatedo, sepak takraw, chess, among others where students will compete. The objective of the event is to produce athletes who could represent the country in international competitions.
