The municipal government of Maribojoc, Bohol withdrew its contract with Fudalan Survey Firm signed during the past administration for the cadastral survey in eight barangays here.
The Sangguniang Bayan already passed a resolution authorizing Maribojoc Mayor Leoncio Evasco Jr. to rescind the contract of Fudalan Survey Firm.
Provincial Legal Officer Handel Lagunay also had the same opinion, to rescind the surveyor’s contact, and for the municipal government to look for a competent survey team to replace Fudalan.
Evasco got fed up on the endless excuses of Engr. Elmer Fudalan in trying to justify his failure to show up in meetings arranged to address the concerns of lot owners who had already made advance payments.
The municipal government entered into a contract with the survey firm during the term of the former mayor, Engr. Gabino Redulla, a classmate of Fudalan in college.
Disappointed residents of the eight barangays where Fudalan was supposed to do the survey within a given time sought the intervention of the mayor in the survey firm’s failure to comply with the contract.
After Evasco got Lagunay’s opinion, he then coordinated with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) through the Land Administration Management Project Phase 2 (LAMP2) for assistance.
The DENR-LAMP2 project team offered to undertake the cadastral survey for the eight barangays left by Fudalan.
Mayor Evasco has assigned an LGU team to undergo a two-week training to assist the DENR in the cadastral survey.
Last Thursday, the LAMP 2 Project Team from DENR facilitated a forum with municipal and barangay officials of the town to get the project started.
PENRO Nestor Canda headed the team from DENR, while Municipal Assessor Melonita Remperas heads the LGU’s counterpart team composed of five members.
On the other hand, the survey of the other barangays, conducted by the team of Engr. Antonio Dominguez, went smoothly. – Boy Descallar, Bohol Sunday Post
