Police arrested four persons while “cannibalizing” a stolen motorcycle in Barangay Lawa here early Sunday morning.
Meycauayan City police chief Hector Samar identified the arrested suspects as Efren Mondonedo Jr., 26, pedicab driver; Jonathan Talusig, 26; John Anthony Ocampo, 18, jobless; and Ronald Allan Japsay Villanueva, 23, student,
Mondonedo and Talusig are both from Barangay Zamora, while Ocampo and Villanueva are residents of Barangay Bayugo here.
Samar said that at about 2:45 a.m. Sunday, a concerned citizen tipped off the Meycauayan City Police station that four unidentified persons were seen dismantling a motorcycle at Block 2, Lot 1, Phase 2, Meywoods Village, Barangay Lawa, this city.
Upon receipt of the information, a police team conducted operations that led to the arrest of the suspects.
Samar said the policemen recovered dismantled parts of a motorcycle and a plate number (3357 RJ) from the suspects.
The dismantled motorcycle was reported stolen on Feb. 10 at about 8:00 p.m. in front of the residence of Luis Marquez Jr. at J. Legaspi Street, Barangay Zamora.
Samar said police investigators have established that the stolen motorcycle with plate number 3357 RJ is registered to Ronnie A. Calderon of 84 Tinejero, Pulilan town. Calderon is a brother-in-law of Marquez, police said.
